Check these ten areas
1. Starting too close to the deadline. 2. Reading only the summary. 3. Missing amendments. 4. Assuming eligibility without checking the wording. 5. Using inconsistent business details. 6. Leaving required forms incomplete. 7. Mixing document versions. 8. Skipping a calculation review. 9. Overlooking file or submission instructions. 10. Failing to keep a submission record.
Turn the list into a workflow
Create a checklist based on the actual tender. Assign responsibility, add an internal review date and record the location of supporting evidence. A reusable checklist is a starting point, but it should be adapted for each opportunity.
Arrange a second review
Where practical, ask another responsible person to review the completed package. The reviewer should work from the tender requirements, not just from the folder of prepared documents.
Leave time to resolve questions
Plan time for clarification, corrections and technical issues. Complete the steps through the official portal and keep an appropriate record of what was submitted.
