Skills for Tendering and Freelance Support

Build a foundation

Useful starting skills include careful reading, document organisation, spreadsheet work, clear communication and familiarity with relevant procurement portals. Practical examples can help connect these skills to tender-related tasks.

Practise a complete workflow

Try organising a sample tender package: identify the requirements, create a checklist, assign actions and prepare a reviewed draft. Keep your sample work clearly separate from any live client account or confidential material.

Define your role clearly

When offering support, agree the work to be done, what information the client will supply, who will approve it and who is authorised to submit. Be clear about what is outside your experience or responsibility.

Keep learning

Use official instructions and supervised practice to develop your understanding. AI and document tools may support your work, but accurate review and professional communication remain essential.
